Ryland Moranz

Ryland Moranz is coming into is own in these strange times. With his first album “Hello New Old World” and three years of international touring under his belt (both as a solo act and as a member of Leeroy Stagger and the Rebeltone Sound), Ryland has stepped into the great beyond, empathetically exploring his own stories and the stories of others. His newest album, “XO, 1945.” takes a passionate look at the world we live in and the people whom inhabit it.

Ryland performs both as a solo, duo or full band.

Some of his performance highlights include Calgary Folk Fest, Canmore Folk Fest, Rifflandia (Victoria, BC), Folk Alliance International (Kansas City, MO), Wide Cut Weekend (Calgary, AB), South Country Fair (Fort Macleod,, AB) Blockheater Festival (Calgary, AB) and a very nice house concert at Pat and Debbie’s house in Espanola, ON.

Ryland Moranz was phenomenal switching between instruments — mandolin, banjo, various guitars, and likely some other instruments I missed — like it was a game of musical chairs (and he was winning).

Everybody loves Ryland. So it was no surprise that Ryland Moranz and his band played to a packed Owl Acoustic Lounge and had everyone eating out of the palm of their hands. It was a beautiful as always, especially “ Beautiful World” and “Lay me Down.” Ryland Moranz puts such genuine joy into his performances, that it is hard not to leave the room with a smile on your face.
